How is my personal information used?

Information such as age and gender are factors we use to select participants for our surveys. Without them, we are not able to ensure our results accurately reflect the demographic make-up of the country you live in.

We will never share your personal information with anyone outside of our company (including our clients) without your prior informed consent. What are 'cookies'?

As a member of the Ipsos iSay online panel, you don’t need to worry about any new changes in the way we are sending or sharing information from or about you. The marketing research industry and its related regulatory organizations have long set strict standards to protect your profile information and other personal data. As part of our commitment to the security of your information, Ipsos Global Group has regular internal and external audits of its information security and is certified to be compliant with the requirements of the International Standards for Information Security ISO 27001, Market, Opinion and Social Research ISO 20252, and Quality Management ISO 9001.

If Ipsos iSay sets new requirements or updates existing processes concerning your personal data consent as a member of our panel, you will receive a formal notice from us.

How can I be sure that Ipsos iSay keeps my personal data secure?

At Ipsos iSay, we take our responsibilities to keep your personal data secure very seriously. As such, we take every reasonable precaution to ensure your personal data is protected from loss, theft, or misuse. These precautions include appropriate physical security of our offices, controlled access to computer systems, and the use of secure and encrypted internet connections when collecting personal data.

Ipsos Global Group is already compliant with requirements of prodigious international standards of information security.

Ipsos does not sell or rent our list of panelists for any reason whatsoever, and we do not provide our research clients with any identifying personal data when we deliver survey results. The personal data that you share with Ipsos is only used to connect you to relevant research studies in an anonymized or pseudonymized way. Only in exceptional cases and with your prior explicit consent, would we provide any personal information to a client or another research partner.

You may remember that when you signed up for Ipsos iSay, we sent you an email asking you to verify your choice to join, or double opt-in. This process demonstrates that we are meeting standard industry quality checks of permissions and consent.

You will also notice that all URLs of your surveys or website pages begins with ‘https://’. This is a sign that your survey responses, rewards, points balance, and all other personal data are sent over a secure, SSL encrypted connection.

Can you remind me to what I have consented to so far with Ipsos iSay?

When you chose to join Ipsos iSay, you agreed that we may send you survey invites and other relevant notifications. You can always choose whether or not to participate in a market research survey to which you have been invited. We may also ask you to update your profile settings section or review new or updated policies. If Ipsos iSay introduces new features, we may ask distinct permission from you for the products or services that imply using your personal data. You also always have the option to terminate your membership in the Ipsos iSay panel.

What about if I have children in my household?

Any children under the age of 15 listed on your account may be invited to participate in surveys via your account contact. These children are allowed to participate in Ipsos iSay surveys only as long as you, the Ipsos iSay panel member, are the parent or legal guardian and provides explicit consent.

Are my survey responses and other interactions with Ipsos iSay anonymous and secure?

Personal data can be collected in two ways: (1) by expressly asking you for your personal details at registration or via surveys and (2) by configuring options to automatically collect certain personal data with the help of required, functional or optional cookies. We make every effort to ensure that any collected personal data is kept secure and that we collect only the personal data that is required and has been stated explicitly and transparently in our Cookies Policy and Privacy Policy.

Additionally, we do our best to make your experience with the Ipsos iSay community, surveys, and app enjoyable and gratifying by aiming to collect data in the most unobtrusive manner possible.

You will also notice that we never publish any member’s full name or location in our public engagement communications or on social media platforms. Please also never share any of your personally identifying information on our social media pages.

Keeping your data secure also requires that you maintain the security of your account by using sufficiently complicated passwords and storing them safely. You should also ensure that you have sufficient security on your own devices and systems.

As a rule, always be sure to:

  • Strengthen your sign-in and create strong passwords
  • Protect your devices
  • Update your software and any antivirus programs that you’ve installed
  • Browse the internet securely
  • Avoid providing your email address or other information on social media public pages
